Individual revision is the key to success at GCSE. It is crucial that each student follows an organised programme of revision out of school in preparation for the examination periods. Computing

A wide range of revision materials including video guides are collated and maintained on Google Classroom and the department provides all Year 11 students with their own copy of the CGP GCSE Computer Science AQA Complete Revision & Practice guide in both paper and online format. In addition, we have begun using a new online resource – CSUK – which incorporates a range of revision tools, including quizzes and flash cards with which Year 11 students are already familiar.

All Geography students have revision materials supplied by their teacher and should work through this using their revision guide GCSE 9-1 Geography AQA Revision Guide by Tim Bayliss (1st edition)

The Oathall Year 11 Google Classroom (code am4lbjt) has a wealth of revision resources that students can also access. GCSE pods are also loaded on there which are great short videos that help to consolidate subject knowledge.

The BBC AQA Geography bitesize website is another good revision portal  BBC AQA Bitesize GCSE Geography  . Applying knowledge and answering past exam questions is also important. Previous exam papers can be accessed from the following websites:

History

Year 11 will be sitting two mock exams in November: Paper One (2 hours) will cover ‘USA 1920-73’ and ‘Conflict and Tension (The Cold War) 1945- 72’. Paper Two will be a shortened version, with students sitting a 1 hour paper on ‘Health and the People’ . All students will be issued a school produced pack for each unit with revision sheets, activities and practice questions. These can be used alongside their exercise books and their external revision guides- links to these revision guides are on the mock prep guide below. We would also like to encourage students to actively use the resources on our History GCSE Google Classroom, which they were added to in the summer term of Year 10. Please see links below:
